    Is hyperventilation implemented anymore?

Bahahaha Thanks for the visual at least! "Sir, I want you to breath into this bag" *Piece of skull falls off* Oh lordy, I'm awful When I went through academy a little over a year and a half ago, it was indicated ONLY if the PT shows signs of severe head injury, is unable to communicate...

    Taking the National Written

Honestly I found it incredibly Eaaaassyyy! I didn't do any prep or anything, however I did highlight most of the text book, so that mighta been a bit of a help. It cut me off at 79. If It cuts you off early it either means you did amazing, or you've done so bad you can't possibly pass. Good luck!

When working in a smelly situation

Vics has never let me down, And i'm talking about the wormy ones. Just make sure you don't get up UP your nose, and a little goes a long way. I also sometimes put it on the particulate mask itself. Because lets not kid ourselves, Those things dont block ALL smells

Thanks so much for the insight, I'd have never been able to figure that our on my own. I don't think I could bring myself to use it then, probably put it with the rest of my collectibles

    What the heck is this?

So you're saying, If I were to ever need roller gauze I just tear this baby open like a christmas present and get to work? Or submit this thing to a museum and buy myself a newer roll?

    What the heck is this?

It looks exactly like that webbed roller gauze kinda transparent stuff, but rolled into a little cylinder made of what feels like either old body tape or maybe card stock?? Lol was my grandpa just super inventive? Wish I could ask him o_O And as for the tampon... I feel mighty sorry for the...

    What the heck is this?

I've been an EMT about a year doing volunteer on a rescue and I've never seen anything like this lol. Am I just stupid? It looks to me like roller gauze wrapped with tape? Does it unroll? I got it from my grandpa's first aid kit my grandma gave me after he died, and I just went throigh it to...

Scenario: Can you actually treat this patient?

This just simply doesn't make sense considering I would never trust someone else's judgement over my own.

Scenario: Can you actually treat this patient?

Without reading any of the replies, I'm going to say without question I would begin CPR immediately. I would assume a conflicting medical problem altered the mental status of this man. There is no way to know for sure. How was his cardiac output? How strong was his pulse? OX? BGL? History of...

    Thinking of transferring companies, help?

"Ripe full of arrogance". That is surely a beautifully discriptive way of saying it. maybe I do lack confidence? Maybe Im just sprinting full speed into life because I'm afraid there will be no one at the station I get hired at to sing me to sleep, and check under the bed and the closets for...

    Thinking of transferring companies, help?

Well I have over 130 hours of experience in transporting the homeless and being assaulted by toothless hypoglycemic meth addicts. And I've seen plenty of people who store their clothing in a peculiar fashion in the way that it takes up the entire floor space of the house along with carcasses of...

    Thinking of transferring companies, help?

I'm still waiting for a movie deal with my super detailed MVC story By the way . I've never been even at a MVC scene yet. Meaning, my interpretation is still fueled only by the stories shared by those who have. Let that annoying thing I just said irk you a little more and I imagine anyone...

    Thinking of transferring companies, help?

I absolutely always have a lot to say. I'll say what I think is right until someone proves me wrong. And for some reason, people always seem to get offended  Wonder why ??? But really, if I'm wrong then please feel free to pick apart anything I say. Demean me if its what you've gotta...

    Thinking of transferring companies, help?

Thoroughly consider what am about to say before you respond. I am not insulting you when I say it. I am only a student about a month from graduating so l am aware my experience will not be comparable to yours. To me, you honestly sound like the pessimist. Always focusing on the negativity of...

    Thinking of transferring companies, help?

You have to take into consideration how many people come and go. Unless you stand out from the crowd, they won't have much of a reason to like you. Not trying to diss you, but I would steer clear of someone if they talked as pessimistically as you. I don't know if Thats how you are in real...

    Continuous fluid BVM ventilation

Thank you, that's as I suspected. The aspiration is what concerns me. Just wanted to see if there's any effective techniques anyone has developed, and it makes sense in my mind that an NPA would be extremely effective for my BLS capabilities at very least. And I haven't had the chance to ask an...

    Continuous fluid BVM ventilation

well as the title suggests, I have a question, Regarding the constant outpouring of liquid such as vomitus or blood while attempting to administer a BVM. Recovery position? Suctioning? OPA? Would you administer oxygen at 15? Higher or lower? How do you clean off the mask after such a thing has...
