I'm on the fence with this one. I spent 18 years as an EMT-I and I can't tell you how many paramedics I've seen disregard simple EMT skills at their patient's peril. I still refer to myself as an EMT-P because I believe that to disconnect ourselves from our basics is to invite disaster.
NREMT-P, 80 questions on the nose. Passed.
At 65 questions it went screwy, though. The test started churning out a bunch of questions that were pretty far out there. I remember one about exopthalmia. I got it just fine, though.

Provided there's no packaging or anything else that absolutely has to be done on scene, I get one set of vitals and I'm out. IVs I try to do en route if it looks like an easy stick.
