How useful is the JB learning test prep?

My first go round on the NREMT Basic test I went to 120 questions and failed. I decided to grab JB test prep and I was scoring in the high 80's about a week later I went into the NREMT Exam and passed at 82 questions. I think I learned quite a bit from it and it seemed to have some similar...

    Careflite

I was recently called to interview with Careflite on December 5th in Grand Prarie. I was wondering if anyone had any input on them and such. Apparently th fits phase is a written test, then medical scenario followed by an interview panel and then lift test/pat. Does anyone know if they'll extend...

Thoughts on taking BGL as part of your assessment.

We're actually required to take BGL as a part of our normal patient assessment. The only times we really don't are in the case of something like a lift assist, etc.

    A&O status questions

I usually ask: What is your name? Do you know where you are? Who is the president OR how many quarters are in a dollar? What happened leading to events?

    EMS in Texas

I about crapped myself when I applied and saw the minimum for a basic is 32 to 40K, it's drastically different out here in New Mexico ha. I'm hoping I get into Med Star, I've been waiting for them to open something up. Plus I've got family over there so it'd work out great. I noticed Arcadian...

    not assertive enough? advice please

Here at the station I usually have a set group of people that I work with. We all have a rule that we will take turns scribing/taking lead/doing vitals. That way no one over steps the boundary of another person. You aren't going to get anywhere if you don't ask if you can take lead, they're just...

    The Official EMTLIFE Introduction Thread

Haha to be honest I don't much like Belen, it seems all the good food places close early and then you get stuck with the Diner. But it's a start somewhere so I can't complain too much.

    Online study

Go for JBLearning EMT Test Prep, It's the best program I've used. It definitely helped me prepare. I failed the first attempt a few months out of my class, and after studying JBLearning for a week I ended at 82 questions and passed.

    Chicago Fire

That was brilliant, lol. I've gotta check out the UK version seems pretty funny.

    The Walking Dead

Agreed on the point of it's highly likely, it pretty much happens when you find yourself outnumbered or trapped. I like the fact that they're slow. I don't much like the '28 days later' type zombies where they are all track star athletes with no possible chance of survival unless you nail a...

    Med Star Ambulance

Lol well I work with them so they tend to talk about once in a while. I've been living here a while, and I guess either I haven't searched hard enough or there just haven't been as many Fire Department or EMS Openings. I'd like to either stay around here in NM or move east towards Texas. That's...

    Med Star Ambulance

Well then I guess I shouldn't have made the mistake of being severely misinformed from the good folks of Valencia Co. Lol they always go on about how it's $7 an hr and you pay for all your uniform needs and such. Anyways I checked into Correctional Care as well. Thanks for the help though man! I...

    gaining experience as an EMT

If there's any ambulance services in the area, try doing ride alongs. Do some volunteer work at a local hospital, or like the above poster said if there's a Fire Dept. close by try doing some ride alongs over there. Ask questions and get involved as much as they'll allow. I've learned a ton by...

    How old are you?

Just turned 21 in August, I would definitely say attach yourself at the hip to a senior member. You tend to learn a lot just by simple observation and asking questions.

    The Walking Dead

I love walking dead, it's got to be one of the best zombie themed programs I've ever watched. I do agree on the Carl bit, he's always going off doing something he shouldn't be. Like when he went to the swamp and agitated the walker that ended up killing dale. This season seems like it'll be more...

    The Official EMTLIFE Introduction Thread

Howdy everyone, My name is Robert and I'm 21. I currently live in New Mexico and I serve as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT-B in Belen, NM. Just passed my NREMT B test, and pretty stoked about that! The forums are pretty neat and there's a bunch of stuff to be learned, and not to mention a ton of...

Having Trouble Passing NREMT-B - Suggestions?

Purchase the JBLearning EMT Test Prep. Pay attention to your scores and then brush up on that stuff through a book or something. After I used JBLearning I found the EMT B test to be quite easy. You just need to eliminate the two non possible answers. Then I selected what was most logical.

    Moving for Employment

I just applied with Med Star in Texas, They seem to always be in need. Plus they'll help cover some of your moving costs. Definitely worth looking into. Don't move to New Mexico, haha.
