What divison are you applying for?

So when you show up om scene first are you not aloud to call for additional resources or cancel incoming units? that would be a incident command decision. Is this a "mother may I" thing or what? Is he saying that you cant just say to dispatch that your assuming command? sounds like a control issue.

I dont know what kind of information your looking for but "Essentials of Fire Fighting" is a good start for firefighting and for EMS i would say "Emergency Care and Transportation of The Sick and Injured"

You can only apply in person, the coverage area is yuba county and I think Sutter county. It's a 3 person panel interview and they have a very strict acadamy. Know Thomas guide map books inside and out. Study the crap out of there maps. I think it's 12 hour shifts and they have 1 24 hour shift.

I've taken those classes and then some. I think I'm up to about 50 of those FEMA classes. It's all pretty easy and some classes are actually interesting. I would like to take a 300 400 class one day.

Of course i know this is temporary... all i plan on doing is go in and work for a couple days and get out...

They are bringing me in as an ER Tech so we will see how it goes. i just wanted to see if anyone has had any experiance doing this. As for scope... I know my california EMT scope and dont plan on exceeding it. I have no problem telling someone no.

Take red crosses Emergency Responder course. It's the fundementals of an EMT. Everyone I know that took that class and moved on to EMT passed no problem.

well to teach AHA CPR you have to be attached to a AHA approved training center. So im still unclear if thats what you are. If not my training center would probably take you and you can still teach for your company that your speaking of but there is just some extra paperwork you would have to...

The old guidlines back in 2000 or 2004 said that you needed to have a HCP Card to maintain your BLS instructor but they did away with that during the recent updates. so yes your BLS Instructor card is your cpr card now.

there is more to it then them just being taught to do hands only. its taught as an option in certain situations and minimal cardiac damage could be caused but nothing life threatening in done correct.
