I respect what you said ffemt, but I have got to reply to this thread...
Children are to be seen and not heard..... Topher, from a previous post from you, I am under the impression that you are not even old enough to obtain a State License or get your NREMT card. It is my opinion that it...
Just finished my EMT program in December. Went to practicals on January 19th; took my written on January 24th. Remember your ABC's. The exam is tough, to say the least. I graduated at the top of my class, and walked out of the written exam wondering what had just hit me... thought I had...
We started out with 9 students in Basic. Of these 9, only 4 passed and made it to Intermediate. Of these 4, only 3 made it to practicals. Of these 3, I am the only one who has taken the written NR exam. Very high drop out/fail rate, but in my opinion, if you cannot make it within the...
Uniforms
I just completed Intermediate in December and we were required to wear uniforms to class and to every clinical site-- black duty pants, grey shirt with the star of life and our name embroidered, black belt, black boots... no exceptions. I am now enrolled in our Paramedic program, and...
I passed my Practicals last Saturday with flying colors. Took my written exam today, and the computer cut off at 85 questions... don't know if that is a good sign or a bad one. Anyway, now it is just waiting for my results to be posted, and I am a nervous wreck!
Hi guys! Finally made it through EMT-B and EMT-I classes. Scheduled for NREMT Practicals on January 19. Any advice, suggestions, comments? Not really sure as to what to expect once I get to the safety training center. I understand about the stations and the skills. I just do not know what...
I have been doing my EMT-I clinical rotations in Georgia. Small rural hospital, with my rotations split between ER and EMS. My preceptors are great to teach and lead, and they let me have my "own patients" who are not critical. Go in with a positive attitude and with a readiness to learn and...
Hi guys. Have not been around in a while... been alot of studying and clinicals. Anyway, tomorrow morning at 8:00 I will be taking my final exam in class for EMT-B. Keep your fingers crossed and lift up a little prayer for me. I have been very adamant about pulling a high "A" in this Basic...
Hi guys. Got an assignment in class yesterday and I need some resources for the assignment. I have to describe where a drop of blood goes and what happens to it as it travels through the body, from the left ventricle to the right foot and back to the left ventricle. Please suggest any...
Hi guys. I am basically at the same point as both of you. I am entering my 12th week of my first class of Basic. In Georgia, we have 2 quarters for Basic, and 1 additional quarter for Intermediate. We have a huge comprehensive final next Thursday morning. Just tested this morning on...
I bought Bates ultralites. They are very comfortable, but they tie. My husband is a LEO, and he also wears Bates with the tie and zipper. Hard to wear them out. They are made remarkably well in my opinion.
It was a BLS scenario. Went well other than my forgetting AVPU. Our next practicals are airway. Maybe I will not have a brain fart like I did Saturday!
Hey guys! I passed patient assessment practicals and checked off on BP's in class yesterday. I had a 25 year old male who had fallen off a ladder and APPEARED to be unresponsive...that was the only information about the patient that I was given. It did take two attempts for me to pass patient...
I am an EMT-B student in Georgia. Our instructor requires FULL uniform. If we are not in uniform, we do not get into class or into clinical sites. I bought black ****ie pants and black Bates ultralite boots. We have polo shirts with the Star of Life and our name embroidered on it. Even...
Another question...I have gotten totally confused about the steps of the Rapid Trauma Assessment vs. Focused Assessment vs. Detailed Physical Exam. Can anyone give me any pointers or hints that will help me to remember exactly what it is that I am supposed to be doing and at which time I am to...
