I understand the confusion. In one of the systems I worked thr transporting medic had no athourity even if we where onscene first. The city fire deparment had total scene and pt controle even if they did not ride in. Pretty :censored::censored::censored::censored:ty system.
not tring to be a **** just clarifying. when I read it, it was clearly stated but that is no big deal. Nothing for anyone to get worked up about. I appreciate the info you did provide. So as far as you know where is the best place to look. I am used to working in a rural system with volly...
I am with you even if it is bull crap that is what we are there for. Half the time they change the story enroute. All we can do is just educate and hopefully make a difference in at least on person's life during our career.
As I stated in the originall post which you apparently did not read completley. I will be working in Aurora. I am just looking for information on the area from any and all who work in the Metro area all agencies. I am completley new and I am doing research as I want to be familliar with my new...
either or just gasthering information. For the city I am looking to make some contacts so I can get to know the system and maybee get an insight to the hiring process. Denver county I know there are a bunch I will be starting in Aurora with Rural metro.
If that is the case where does it say that. That is like saying that just because you called 911 you have to go to the hospital. I understand we have an obligation to treat and transport life threats but do we also not have a duty to educate our public on proper use of emergency services. Some...
Scenario
You get called for a pt who is complaing of general illness. Upon arrival you find a 23 year old female. No apparent distress and states to providers both Fire and EMS that she just needs a ride to her doctors appointment. After verifying there is no medical emergency and documenting...
so as the title infers. The question is the same if a patient is deemed to have no acute of life threat, does the patient have the right to demand transport via ambulance. If so are there any regulatory statutes to back this up.
alot of complaining
I have been in the system and maybee I am a rare breed. I have never had a problem with the 24 hour shifts and exhaustion. In fact I have had the opposite. When running day cars (10-12hours) 3-4days a week I spent more time trying to play catch up. Always getting held over...
Moving to Colorado and want more than anything to get on with Denver. Any suggestions out there. Have been in field over 10 years in various setting really like what I have seen with Denver Medics.
Thank You
I appreciate the reponses. I am used to long transport times and no assistance has been kind of nice but I am ready for a better system. We have one local hospital that was from the rural areas about 20min plus. Fire sounds like the typical city fire where they think there patch is...
Just got a joba offer with Rural Metro in Aurora CO. Moving to the state from a rural system where I ran 50% with fire and the other 50% was ambo only. Just looking for some general feed back of what to expect. Should I keep looking for a better medic slot or is it a decent system where a medic...
