Just like any test there can be false positives, It's just another tool to have in our arsenal. For as many fluids that there are that can give a false positive with a glucose check there are many more that can do the same with the halo test.
Your right, the pt probably does have more...
I'm actually in the application process for my medic program. It consists of: prerequisite biology, A&P, and Med terminology; an assessment test (reading, writing, math); minimum preprogram gpa; criminal history check; Physical; drug screen; proof of immunizations; and current license check...
I was just talking to the head of hiring for an area transport service a week or two ago,and she said that they average 10 basic applications A DAY without advertising. Needless to say the basic market in the area is stuffed to capacity, and then some. I wish you the best of luck in finding a...
How about a paper about clinical trials in emergency medicine? Or the ethics involved in such research. My area has recently participated in a CPR clinical trail for the use of Res-Q-Pod and Res-Q-Pump. Comparing the survival rates of standard CPR against the enhanced CPR. Needless to say it...
37 nah, I was assisting with a basic class last fall that had three students in the 45-60 range. Don't stress about it, most of the class will be younger students but what difference does that really make to your education?
There were four older students (myself included) in my basic class...
There are only two programs in the state that are accredited - Lansing community college , and Huron Valley Ambulance (which has courses through HVA main in Ann Arbor and Schoolcraft CC at the Garden City campus). I've heard many a horror story about Michigan Academy, but nothing really about...
If I'm out and about Tim Hortons, followed by Dunkin, and Brugers. Starbucks is definitly a no go with the forementioned burnt bean taste. At home maxwell house or folgers french roast. Anything more than cream is a waste of perfectly good coffee. That is unless it's starbucks, because it needs...
This begs a few questions,
1. What other routes are there? I should have had two scoped out when I walked in, but definitly after he got loud.
2. Where is my cot outside or inside? can I use it as a barrior?
3. How much room do I have to manuever?
My goal is going to be two fold 1...
Sclome,
Check the program documents that were given to you at the beginning of your program. They should tell you what you need to know. The program that I went through (not LCC) you had to have an 80%+ to even sit for the final.

I dont agree that this would be a "minor" incident.
"this student had made copies of all of our weekly quizzes (5 total up to that point)."
Chewing gum in class, not polishing your boots, O.K. Taking quizzes out of the room and making copies for distribution. That to me is in a completely...
As for the liability for student practicing on student 1. they have to VOLUNTEER for the procedure, no one is forcing the student. 2. The student can't say that they weren't aware of the other students competency level, they are learning together. 3. The students are informed as to possible...
We had to do 10 sticks in the dummy and get cleared before we practiced on each other. Once we started we had to have at least 1 successful attempt for each area (hand, forearm, a/c) on the first day. We had a limitation of eight attempts per arm per class. During our hospital clinicals we were...
Talk to the staff on you clinicals (amb or ER) and ask questions. Once they know that your sincerely interested they will seek you out when something interesting comes in. I've had nurses that would come find me for stuff when I was assigned to another section of the ER.
As for the 3rd rides...
Does anybody know of a test prep book or software that is geared for I-85? Or that at least designates 85 and 99 type questions?
I'm finding studing difficult since my state is modified I-85 but the test is I-85. I don't want to miss a bunch because I'm thinking state but testing on...
"I need some pointers on taking the test and what necessarily to study, I failed because I need to study a little more airway and trauma any suggestions?"
Are you saying this because those are the sections you missed or because you really feel that you don't know it? Sometimes you may be...
