I have the following books for sale for medics or students. All books are rated to my standards, and I am tough on books. There is NO HIGHLIGHTING or WRITING in any of the books, no tears, no missing pages.

I love my job. It's 911, I have a good partner, decent quarters, plus we are far enough away to be "off the radar" which is nice.
Of course there are always days when there is not so much love.... politics, patients, etc), but that comes with any, and every job....just different stuff.
Well from my perspective, (which I am sure is far different than many others) I would base it on what I would truly be willing to accept for the position. For example, the position I have now pays less than what I could make at another service. However, for me, working a 911 position is worth...
I could not agree more, though I would say 12 months. I am amazed how many medic students we get for internship that do not know how to perform an assessment, or cannot communicate with a patient.
+2, that will get your feet wet. Volunteering with an FD might also get you some paid education for the next steps (FF & Medic), which then gets you into a paid county service or something else with decent pay and a nice pension.

Compared to what? The billing and criminal/civil actions of a municipality / city service, or another private service? Cities can hide much more than a private service can, especially if it is publicly traded as AMR was during the height of their medicare audit / fine.

I cannot speak for everyone and all services, but I can state that my organization is very tight lipped about Op Sec and our vehicles. I would think most insurance companies would know what equipment is carried on a box given the fact that they are insuring said equipment?
You might think...
Electical issues on a box are no joke. These trucks have so much wiring, it could be anything. As SoCal mentioned a mutli meter is your go to for figuring out your draw and what not, but there could be so much more going on.
Personally, all the responses given are great for helping you r/o...
At $14.00 an hour, on the average rotating shift (4-12's week 1, then 3-12's week 2) you would be looking at about $30k a year pre-tax. Roughly 84 hours every pay period including o.t.
$13.00 = $28k +/-
$12.00 = $26k +/-
You can use those rough figures to give you an idea of where you...
I have a pair. They are ok when used in specific scenarios, otherwise they just sit there and make the shears heavier. A lot of people look at it and say "nice seatbelt cutter"....
Pro's:
They do a decent job of cutting through thicker stuff that you could not rip. Much less movement of the...
Sad to hear. The old program used to be pretty good back in the day, but now it seems that the education they are putting out down there is pretty lack luster. I read a report that stated much of the training was being done by civilians, who did not have the appropriate qualifications in the...
