I wish Virginia's EMTB program required clinicals. I didn't know other states required that. Clinical time would so much enlighten the EMTB, including me. I am getting ready for the EMTI class and am very much looking forward to clinical hours.

Yep had a 85 year old male patient the other day we were taking to ER for back pain and dehydration. AFTER we get to ER the family informs us he has MRSA and hep C. Why didnt they tell us at the house? GGGGRRRR. Glad I always glove up before i hit the door.

I feel for ya. I haven't done a ped's code yet and dread the day I do. Two days ago I ran a code that turned out to be a good friend of mine. I was first EMT on the scene, and my first code as AIC. It sucks. Hard to distance yourself from the suffering and sadness of the patient and family.

But do we throw our fellow ems under the bus in front of those who aren't ems? I hope not. Let's keep it in the family. HHHMMM does that sound incestuous?
