    ECG Identification

Just wanted some of your input as to what is going on in this ECG. Doing some LP 15 training and this is part of the strip taken from a coworker. I didnt snap a pic of the entire strip because i figured it would be too hard to see any detail in such a small pic. Can provide it if needed...

    Injury prior to recruit school

Im sure each county handles injuries differently, but what typically happens if somebody has a minor injury during/just prior to the fire academy? I know that major injuries often lead to a recruit being dropped, but are they a little more understanding about sprains and the like?

Im a new medic and am currently going through the hiring process for a couple of counties (volunteer and career). My physical showed an abnormal EKG, possible septal infarct, and i was told that i need to see a cardiologist for further testing. I was hoping it was just an issue with lead...

How much emphasis on pharmacology during medic school?

Just curious how much time you spent learning your medications in your respective programs. I feel like my program spent virtually no time on medications outside of ACLS drugs and a handful of others. We had drug quizzes but they were only for extra credit, and were unbelievably easy to pass...

Not sure how common Polygraph testing is among agencies across the nation, but its part of the hiring process in every county near me. Just looking for some insight as to what i should expect. Unfortunately, i have a fairly extensive drug experimentation history, and i have been asked to...

    ACLS Instructor woes

Ill try to keep this rant brief. We started ACLS in school a few weeks ago and i just dont feel like my program is doing a good job teaching it. During lab we split into groups of 5 or 6 students who get teamed up with an instructor who is supposed to go over the algorithms while using the...
