It could be laziness but it could also be a complicated way of reporting and getting the material. Like for instance calling supervisor/completing a protocol/locked storage room/ etc ... That just asks for many things to go wrong. Supervisor is not present/busy/unwilling, nobody has the key, ...
Okay seems like noone here likes it. I was also a bit shocked when I first heard it. Didn't know what to think of it. Now I believe it's not right even as a last resort.

Theoretically it seems plausible but has anyone ever tried that? What do you think? Does it work?
There are lots of articles on the internet that say giving Amiodarone without anything has better outcome than mixing it with NS or D5%.

I read this topic and links in it but I still don't understand much as it has lots of "heavy" scientific words.
So can someone explain this to me in a more easy and less...

Thanks!

So what about Amiodarone and NS?
Doing my clinicals and preparing a doctor's order where it said 300 mg in 250 cc of NS. I was like "What the hell... this must be a mistake" So i asked a nurse, my mentor, if this is wrong and she said that they never put Amiodarone in 5% Dextrose... that...
