    Texas HEMS

Looks like Air Methods has a job opening in El Paso for a Flight Medic. I lurk on their job board occasionally and they seem to be good about keeping their employment section current. https://rn21.ultipro.com/AIR1006/JobBoard/JobDetails.aspx?__ID=*D21B15A4A9D05DA7#.UetY7m3cBFI There ya go.

Big cities who have seperate EMS from FD.

Most of the counties in North Carolina have separate transporting ALS from the Fire department, including the large cities. Buncombe County EMS for Asheville, Medic for Charlotte, Forsyth County EMS for Winston-Salem, etc. Worcester, MA has all of their EMS done by the paramedics of UMass...

    Massachusetts EMT Jobs

Mondays in Metro on m39 and Fridays in Leominster on m7. I didn't pick up a lot of shifts in Worcester. Also, it appears you are from FL as well, I was born and raised in Clearwater before moving up to Mass.

    Massachusetts EMT Jobs

Medstar also does primary 911 too! They're the primary 911 for Fitchburg and they do ALS intercepts with Leominster, Lunenburg, Lancaster, Harvard, Devens, and Groton, and they're one of the backup 911 services for Worcester. It was the first place I worked as a paramedic and it will always have...

    Princess Cruises?

Damn it actually sounds as cool as I think it is. Incredible. What happens if/when you get a really sick patient that needs tertiary care? Say you're out to sea and you have a patient with a STEMI that got intubated and has medications running. I assume the Coast Guard would be called to hoist...

    Princess Cruises?

Always happy to see this thread come back to life. Now that a few of you have been working on the ship for a while, can you guys give any updates on how the job is? What is a typical day on the job like? What sorts of cool places have you been to so far?

    Asheville, NC

I think it's upper 14's to mid 15's/hr at Mission. Certainly do not quote me on that but that's my hunch. Cost of living is pretty low in the area so it kind of evens out. Most of the municipal EMS pays similar I believe. Don't quote me on that either though. As for CCEMTP, I recommend the...

New medic jobs in FL. Help!

Sunstar Paramedics in Pinellas County is almost always hiring paramedics. They seem like a pretty good service. It's system status management but its necessary for them because they cover the whole county. Most of the towns in Pinellas county have FD based ALS ambulances, but Sunstar gets...

    Asheville, NC

I kind of agree with these posts. There is a large artsy hippy crowd there. But if you're not into that sort of thing you can just as easily avoid it too. If you get out of the city, it turns back into good ol' Western North Carolina real quick. The city and the surrounding area are beautiful...

    Asheville, NC

Just got done with CCEMTP school in Asheville. I can help here. Most of the counties in Western NC have their own municipal EMS. Most are ALS level. Not sure which ones are hiring right now. Mission Hospital, which is the level 2 trauma center and referral center for the region, runs their...

    Albuquerque Ambulance written exam

Hey folks, I'm flying out to Albuquerque to interview and test for paramedic with AAS. I've heard the written exam they give is wicked hard. Anybody got any pointers/advice?

Falck - or the 900-pound gorilla no one is aware of

American Ambulance in CT is not related to the American Ambulance in South FL/Massachusetts. South FL American and American in Mass are the same company, and one of my buddies that works there mentioned something about them being bought out by Falck.

    Job Search Engines?

I check these sites regularly just for fun. All are updated almost daily with new jobs. indeed.com, monster.com, simplyhired.com to name a few. EMS in Western Mass there are a few options. Action Ambulance has a base in Pittsfield, County Ambulance is in Pittsfield, Pioneer Valley EMS is...

    Princess Cruises?

This really interests me. Currently young, single, not on an apartment lease, and unemployed. (Yikes that sounds like a bad dating profile. It is what it is.) Could be a great opportunity. What's the acuity like? I understand its probably a lot of BS just like anywhere but are there at least...

Where to work in the US as a paramedic.

Thats true about Medic One. Unshockable codes are still workable codes in a lot of cases. Not counting them in your CQI data is kind of cheating in my opinion. Especially when they make said data one of the key selling points about why they think they are so awesome. So Seattle is out. Never...

Where to work in the US as a paramedic.

Applied to Denver Health, got a phone interview followed by a polite rejection email. Not sure what went wrong. Not in the mood to go all the way through paramedic school again even if it is King County and they're paying me. Heard good things about ATCEMS and a couple of other places in Texas...

Where to work in the US as a paramedic.

Alright, so I'm looking for opinions. Where would be a good place to work as a paramedic? Anywhere in the US (except Massachusetts, just left there) is applicable. I'm out of a job and all of my worldly possessions are packed in my car. I can go anywhere! A little about myself, National...

    Is ATLS for paramedics?

Dagnabbit. I knew it was too good to be true. There are literally 7 upcoming ATLS courses in Massachusetts in the next 3 months. I definitely don't have $750+ to spend on that either. I guess I'll just have to wait it out until a PHTLS or ITLS class appears around here again.
