Nice dude! I got a huge pay increase going back to the ambulance, but I also just came back to the ambulance in time for an even bigger pay increase that only current employees got. Had I gotten hired like a week or two later, I wouldn't have had such a nice pay increase. I would've been paid...

Can we talk about these ketamine doses

pain 0.1-0.25 mg/kg post intubation sedation 0.5-1 mg/kg RSI 1-2 mg/kg excited delirium/behavioral 4 mg/kg IM Works as intended. I personally haven't had any major issues with it. I don't prefer it over drugs. I don't see it as any better or worse for things like RSI or pain management. I feel...

@DesertMedic66 Do you mean 5 mg/ml Versed vials? Ativan concentration is usually 2 mg/ml.

Where was it at? Too bad I am hearing about it now otherwise I would've tried going. Funny you say that. The place I got hired at is the very first paramedic job I applied, interviewed, and got a rejection letter from like 8 years ago. I might be going per diem at the flight job. I am not...

Seems like everything is official. I am going back to ground in California. Been talking about it in the chat a little bit, but haven't made a post I don't think. Very sad about the scope and no more flying, but looking forward to the lower temperatures, being closer to home, and California pay...

Thoughts on King's American Ambulance in San Francisco?

Nope, I have no specific info on King.

Thoughts on King's American Ambulance in San Francisco?

Just put it in. I imagine that if you apply to every single job opening in the Bay Area, you are only going to hear back from a couple of them. You are probably not going to be offered a job with all of them. If you work 911 in the Bay Area, you are going to deal with a ton of homeless no matter...

My Experience Getting Certified in Massachusetts

I don't think California has certified itself to jump in. California is going to need to take a LEMSA class all over again, jumping in orientation and 5 jump (similar to 5 ALS contact/5 call in a lot of LEMSA), do a couple of background checks, and a protocol test or two.

    Tempus Pro — any experience?

Eh, it's an okay revive. I've been seeing a ton of Netherland EMS people talking about this monitor. In the US, I've used all three main cardiac monitors: Zoll, LifePak, and Philip. They each have small differences, but otherwise none really stand out that much. I can't imagine a different...

    Good Glucometer for jump bag

Can't you just walk into a CVS or Walgreens and buy any of those things off the shelf? I've never seen a glucometer or lancet that I thought stood out from others. Just buy whatever is at the store.

    FP-C and CCP-C

I thought the tests were hard, but I still passed both first try. Both tests have nearly a 50/50 pass rate with CCP-C having a slightly worse rate. One thing I've noticed with people who fail these tests or similar is they expect their ALS experience to help them, but these tests are CCT tests...

I don't think it was my company. I forgot to say that we couldn't be dispatched/respond to calls on the freeway. I didn't understand why, we were close to one, but I am guessing the CHP thing you mentioned? I dunno. Both Santa Clara County and Alameda County (ALCO) had supervisor SUVs. Both...

Question about EMT certification in another state (CA to AZ)

I have a paramedic license in Arizona. I think I just had to show them my NREMT and tell them which company I was going to work for. They gave me the Arizona license for free. It's one of the easiest licenses I have ever gotten. I didn't have to take any refresher. The Arizona people are very...

Where I used to work, they did that too. They only did it in a city that didn't have fire ALS at all.
