    Exemplary Private/Non-Profit Services?

I've heard good things about REMSA. I assume you're wanting to exclude third service agencies?

    Boot tread loss?

10 months doing IFT in 5.11s, that actually seems acceptable to me.

    Boot tread loss?

I couldn't quite make out the brand on your boots. However, cheap boots wear faster. I use the term "Walmart Brand" to refer to any of the $40 boots you can buy at chain stores. These boots typically last 6-12 months before they need replacing. More expensive boots may last up to 3 years. Some...

How many paramedics dump ice on hyperthemic patients in the field?

I've never done it, but it's in our protocols. Our high schools are required to have ice baths available during outdoor fall and summer sports.

How do you wash your uniform?

All of my polo uniforms have had pilling, not as fast as yours seem to be. I've never done anything special, except I wash my uniforms separate from my non work clothes and I add Lysol laundry disinfectant.

Orange County and SE LA County - Paramedic Private Ambulance

I mean, that's essentially how TPA works anyway lol. We can take anything we want on a transfer, as long as the sending doctor okays it. Usually that means a pump, but we can push meds and titrate too. It's nice having the freedom, but I also kind of understand the other side of the coin...

Orange County and SE LA County - Paramedic Private Ambulance

I'm surprised they let them do TPA since it's not in the state scope of practice. I'm assuming there's a stipulation that if it's on a pump and "set it and forget it" then it doesn't require a nurse?

    CCP-C vs FP-C

Typically yes. They might allow you to apply and take the FP-C later if they want it. The CCP-C shows them you can pass the test. Most people say the CCP-C is harder.

Could EMS lead to being a PA

There is your flaw in thinking. It's not proposed as "PA school light". Is NP the nursing version of PA school light? Paramedic Practitioner is literally just NP for paramedics. It's a mid level provider with a focus on emergency care, rather than say, family practice. In my local ED we have...

Could EMS lead to being a PA

I'm not saying I do. But it does seem way more appropriate than the FNPs we are using to treat MIs and traumas now. It also allows a convenient "escape path" for paramedics who want to get out of the field. Going from paramedic to Paramedic Practitioner would be more akin to a bridge program...

Could EMS lead to being a PA

I think maybe you've missed the point. The idea of a Paramedic Practitioner is not to have the "PP" in the field, but rather in a facility like a urgent care or ER. The Paramedic Practitioner is proposed to be equal in practice to a PA, just with a different education path to get there.

Could EMS lead to being a PA

Missouri has a bill on the table to set the groundwork for a Paramedic Practitioner license.

    Pearson VUE Online Proctored Testing

The online exam is still proctored virtually. Several of my students have tested online and loved it. If I needed to renew my NREMT this is how I would do it.

Critical care / Flight paramedic programs in california?

Most flight medics and critical care paramedics get their experience working in a critical care role before they test for their certification. CAMTS requires paramedics to obtain FP-C or CCP-C within 2 years of hire, so for most providers new to the critical care environment they use that 2...

Critical care / Flight paramedic programs in california?

Flight paramedic/Critical Care Paramedic training is mostly experience based, and then complimented by some formal education. Most education programs are 3-5 days. Flight medical provider programs are designed to educate both paramedics and nurses in the critical care transport environment...

    Death of Elijah McClain

No, he was reacting to the conversation that 4mg/kg and 500mg are "normal" doses and that the patient received 8mg/kg.

Your point is received, but that's also enteral versus parenteral routes.

    Death of Elijah McClain

500mg is certainly enough to kill someone in the right circumstances. Agitated delirium is certainly one of those circumstances. 500mg is also a safe dose and is commonly accepted as a reasonable dose. Now, I'm not advocating against ketamine for AD; Ketamine has a wide safety profile, and is...

Yep. Same for me, but this was many more moons ago at Bowers. It was 2 EMTs plus an RN, RT or MD. Never a medic.

    Chest issues?

This could be barrel chesting. It's hard to tell what you're describing.
