She was in chat earlier so hopefully she is feeling better. I think they just switched her meds or something like that. Maybe need time getting adjusted?

Try a bobby pin or two to hold the strap in place? I feel like bobby pins should work on short hair too?

If I recall, you're a woman, right? I would put my ponytail up high and put the top strap against it. That worked well or so I thought.... I also have tried using bobbypins to keep it in place.

I trained donning and doffing reusing the same equipment at a post. I was planning on using it the next call I needed to, which was today. I recorded myself to make sure I didn't accidentally contaminated anything. I made notes on things I would screw up like walking back (flare up the gown...

In other news, I might have caught it. I had a temperature of 99.1 when I went to work today. I've had vague symptonms, but I have had them for like a week or two. My work told me they weren't going to send me home because I didn't have a fever at the time. I have had generalized weakness...

Because of th shelter in place, it has been a lot slower in my area. When we do get calls, they are still mostly minor. They've been sending some crews home voluntarily.

Charlotte patient shot and killed while being treated in an ambulance

Shouldn't this be retitled to transgender woman or something? Kind of messed up to call her a man just after she was shot dead, and while people may not agree that she is a woman, I would at least say transgender woman or something instead.

Things to Do During the Wuhan Flu Outbreak

I was doing this before we got shelter in place, but I just work all the time. The only thing I did outside of go to work was go to restaurants, and now we can't do that. :( I'm still ordering the food and picking it up. My favorite Thai place is completely closed during the shelter in place.

To me, reusing the mask doesn't make sense. The front of the mask is contaminated. If you are using it because it is possible the patient has something, how do you know if they did or didn't have something, and that when you reuse it, how are you avoiding cross contamination? Wherever you put...

I was just told by other crews that people in the county are suppose to shelter in place, and supposedly violators can get a misdemeanor? I haven't been officially told yet or know the details, but it is on the news online...

We haven't been kicked out, but some of the fire departments have hand sanitizer wipes and spray by the entrance, a sign in sheet, and we are suppose to utilize those as we walk in. Oddly enough, I ran an airport call today, and the firefighter told me the stupidest plan ever to minimize...

Whats your "criteria" for starting iv access on a pt?

It is such a low risk procedure, very likely to be done at some point of the patient care process whether by us or not, I don't get why people worry themselves over whether they should do it or not. If you believe the patient at some point will need it, whether you are going to use it or not, I...

O2 tank duration? Size M Patient on continuous 15l.

There are constants that you memorize. A D tank, usually the one on the back of the gurney, is 0.16. An M tank, usually the ambulance main tank is 1.56. The math is... ((PSI - 200) x constant)/liters per minute = minutes you have until tanks are empty The reason 200 is subtracted is margin of...

    California Questions

I have just over four years of being a fake paramedic in the Bay Area. I don't remember Diltiazem dose, which makes me a fake paramedic, even though Diltiazem is not in our scope of practice of paramedics in most of the Bay Area. Anything I know about cardiology is likely Googled or learned...
