In this instance everything goes through one guy. He's not really HR. It's county. That's why I figured he was probably SUPER busy and don't want to bother him. On the other hand, very eager and excited to start. Been trying to study and keep on top of it, but I don't want to forget everything...
I interviewed yesterday morning and it went really well. They told me if my references all checked out, they'd would call me back with a time and day for my physical. (Slight chance they might not) Then I would have my orientation/ride-a-long and receive my protocols.
I'm very excited about...
Haha, trust me, you'll be fine. You're kinda suppose to feel like you failed.
And ew, memphis!
If you're from TN (you said memphis), just remember, we learn more than what's on a basic's test and only test for basic. You got it nailed.
3 business days. Usually. I tested Monday and got it Thursday. My friend tested Wednesday and got it Saturday. Another friend tested Wednesday, got their results Friday and got their packet Tuesday.
So it will vary, but generally within 3.
You would've loved my class. DRAMA. Seriously. Some of them were more wired up about their personal lives than they were class.
I don't mind when people laugh at me, I do it all the time, lol. But I did tell him if he paid enough I'd consider it. He asked me how I handled stress if...
I'm not stressed over my interview. I think it was challenging and a learning experience, so feel free to chuckle. I did in the parking lot when I was leaving. I've suffered through weirder things, an interview isn't a big deal to me. When I said I felt awful I meant in as far as getting in to...
I think it's because TN made their own level of EMT, then only requires a basic certification to become licensed. Which is odd, because I believe we can do everything a EMT-I/85 can do - minus the optional intubation some states do. Because we have IV therapy and the combitube out here. Seems...
I was told only adult pads for adults, child for children, despite age and height, but I have no sources and would like to see the answer from someone who might know more about it.
This is very similar to my interviews. (Even the points, we had to average at least a 2.5 or more.) They were very nice to any previous EMTs, but anyone that wasn't working as one was treated awful.
In all seriousness, a vast majority of my questions had absolutely nothing to do with Paramedic...
In class they teach you to give EVERYONE a NRB at 15LPM. In fact, if we didn't do it every check off we failed.
But look at it this way. If a patient only needed 5mg of medicine to feel better, would you give them 15mg? No. O2 is considered a drug, so give it as the patient can tolerate and use...
