When to get patient contact information

I’ve never had problems getting patient’s name, date of birth, Social Security number and medical history. I usually ask during the transport and type in my iPad. It’s part of the job.

We have a large, very intricate Fourth of July celebration in my community. We staff with multiple EMS units, bike, medics, a transporting gator, a mobile command post and treatment facility in a 30 foot trailer. Luckily, it was a relatively uneventful day. Few cases of syncope, some nausea and...

Post the # your test stopped at, and if you Passed/Failed

That’s your mistake right there. Limmer Education. Get it. Use an exam diagnostically, figure out where you’re weak. Deep dive into those areas. Take another diagnostic exam. Pass the test.

I currently have a fairly newly remounted ambulance sitting in my out of service bay because the AC in the box isn’t working. I’ve been fighting with the vendor about this since I took over as chief and they finally agreed to fully replace all the AC component parts. Now we just wait for the...

I think the overall ZOLL package of clinical tools, with see through CPR, feedback for ventilation and compressions, coupled with the very robust data analytics package and the unit’s light weight and excellent battery life puts the X series miles ahead of the LP15 and the new 35. My crews...

Garbage. I actually saw it and immediately called Zoll. We just bought all new X series advanced to replace our fleet of 15s.

EMS Provider Mental Health And Wellness

Actually there are plenty of places that stigmatize mental health and asking for help puts your employment in jeopardy. It’s unfair and unfortunate.
