    EMT-Basic prestudy

That's cool. I took First Aid and I got CPR next week. I needed to renew them anyway. Apparently it doesn't get me a ride-along and they don't start until halfway through EMT class. Not that I would be much help, I get that, I was just hoping start doing more hands-on stuff or at least see how...

    EMT-Basic prestudy

Yes if you take a CPR or BLS class you can do a ride along(s). I did one like 10 years ago. I got a job flying private jets that took up all my time for awhile. My BLS is expired but maybe I should see if I can renew it and do some ride alongs in the meantime.

    EMT-Basic prestudy

My local volunteer ambulance next EMTB class starts in March. What should I do over the winter to make my learning experience better and be more prepared? I have taken BLS before and I am currently re-reading through that material for now.

Thanks guys, and yeah I won't pretend the smell wasnt gross but it didn't get me sick and when someone called 911 to get your help in getting them to the hospital it quickly becomes incidental. I didn't really do much except carry things and hand the EMT and Paramedic stuff but it was great to...

I noticed that the only people who need to go don't want to and the people who don't need to go want to go.

Fire Truck Possibly Ran Over Airplane Crash Victim

Well the wings aside your pretty much on the money. The jet hit the ground tail first and then the rest slammed down hard enough to shear the main gears right off. I don't know the exact stall speed of the 777 but if their target approach speed (usually 1.2 times stall) was 137kts then the stall...

Did my ride-along last night. Got dispatched 4 times. I can't give specifics but I know what GI bleeding smells like. 3 TX 1 refusal. One was probably incarcerits... prisoner with chest pain. I learned some jargon too. I am definitely going to take EMT-B at least. Just need the time and the money...

Finished the BLS course, got my ride along application just waiting for the cert to come in the mail although I took it there anyway I should probably just mail it in now. They said they are going to notify when the next EMT-B class is starting.

Update: So I signed up for the latest BLS class. From what I gather through Google searching is that BLS is basically CPR/AED with some additional life support functions for healthcare providers like ambu bags at such. Is this about right? They said I could take either for the ride along but BLS...

Drawing the line with head injuries

I have a friend who is (possibly was) a heavyweight boxer with two herniated discs in his neck. I've seen him do worse to others though. He is going to need surgery before (if) he ever fights again.

Thanks. Thanks and yeah never thought about medical transport. I actually decided to fly just for fun instead of a job because the pay kinda sucks so it isn't really worth moving but maybe something more specialized might be worth it.

So I talked to some volunteer medics (EMTs or Paramedics IDK) and now I got this idea in my head that I really want to try this out. I have no previous medical training besides CPR but I am going to renew my CPR certification just so I can go on a ride along (company policy for the town...
