Building a resume as a new EMT-B

I just graduated my EMT-B program and want to hop right on the job, either on a truck or in an ER. Doesn't matter, just want to start working and get some good experience so I can get to where I want to be.

Writing a resume has never really been a problem for me but I'm not sure what to do for an EMS resume. Since I don't have any experience yet, what are the things I should put on there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks y'all. Stay sharp out there.

Any customer service experience you may have. That's what most of this job is.

Well...in all fairness, it is uncommon you will submit a "resume" for an EMT position. You will most likely fill out an online application and in some rare, still surviving institutions an actual paper application <GASP>!

Just put whatever your background is on there. Even if it isn't directly EMS related, it's still work experience and education.

Whereabouts do you live? I live the Los Angeles area, and there seem to be a number of 'resume-building' opportunities out here for new EMTs.

Leadership, education, volunteer work, prior experience, previous team experience to name a few..... These employers are similar to Fire Department hiring based on qualities mentioned above.

Objective, relevant skills, education, relevant experience (anything customer care/service is a golden ticket). And if you really want a job, get a CPT-1 ASAP.
