    do you like your job

I love my job. It's 911, I have a good partner, decent quarters, plus we are far enough away to be "off the radar" which is nice. Of course there are always days when there is not so much love.... politics, patients, etc), but that comes with any, and every job....just different stuff.

    "Salary Desired" on application?

Well from my perspective, (which I am sure is far different than many others) I would base it on what I would truly be willing to accept for the position. For example, the position I have now pays less than what I could make at another service. However, for me, working a 911 position is worth...

Opinion: Should states limit entry into EMT B/Paramedic courses?

I could not agree more, though I would say 12 months. I am amazed how many medic students we get for internship that do not know how to perform an assessment, or cannot communicate with a patient.

    Experience

+2, that will get your feet wet. Volunteering with an FD might also get you some paid education for the next steps (FF & Medic), which then gets you into a paid county service or something else with decent pay and a nice pension. Butte Co sounds desperate for people...

    AMR's Fate

Compared to what? The billing and criminal/civil actions of a municipality / city service, or another private service? Cities can hide much more than a private service can, especially if it is publicly traded as AMR was during the height of their medicare audit / fine. I am not defending them...

How much of your military experience HAS translated to civilian credit?

No sir, not familiar with them. Columbus State University initially, but i transferred the credits to a bigger university without issue... One caveat, Cal State did not accept any of the credits from back east when I went there for a few semesters...the funny part is their classes were a lot...

    AMR's Fate

+2 They consistently have 1+ billion a year in revenues, so that would have to be one heck of a contract.

    Research Writer seeks EMT/Paramedic help!

I cannot speak for everyone and all services, but I can state that my organization is very tight lipped about Op Sec and our vehicles. I would think most insurance companies would know what equipment is carried on a box given the fact that they are insuring said equipment? You might think...
