I know how to use and where an IO goes thank you. I was just confused on which "brand" if you will you were talking about. I looked at those links and those are not what we use here, hence my confusion. I have always been around the same brand of IO's, there for that is what I know, I am not...
Well I hate to say it but Michigan is far behind most states, hence I want to move, but anywhoo, as far as here, Paramedics can not nor have ever been able to do chest tubes, but we can do chest decompressions. OUt basics are also not allowed to give any medications, not even Glucagon. I would...
Hmm,.. I guess I am not sure of the type we use, .... as I didn't realize there were a few different ones, I will have to look into it and find out, or do you have a website that shows the different types, and I could find out that way too?
I can see people abusing it, and as far as the ER doc, she did crich. Well in a combative I will take a few extra FF's with me for extra hands, we have restraints. As far as if I need to intubate right away and need some way of knocking them out, then I would use MS for pain, and Versed as...
HAHA, ok good point and thanks for making me eat my words,... I guess I wasn't thinking about that, I got side tracked with frustration you would give so much Morphine to a possible head bleed, or even internal bleed, and you are right, I would not do a nasal intubation in that situation. I...
Wow, everything here is recorded and said over a med chanells here. It actually came in handy for a guy that I worked with. He was taking in a chest pain that he thought was border line priorty1 (which is lights and sirens here) or priority2. The ER doc told him to continue in priority2, and...
Wow, I couldn't even finish reading all of the responses, I was getting so mad. You have a person that was in an MVA, and you are giving them high doses of morphine? Maybe it's just where I live, but has anyone thought about the fact you don't give that drug to someone who has any possible...
What the hell? I guess I am not sure what an EZ IO is, but yes, all IO's are to be done by paramedics, and I don't know about all of you guys, but I HATE the feeling of doing an IO.
We used to be able to, but it has been proven it is ineffective. Now most guidlines state, if you can not get an IV, go for an IO and push meds that way.:ph34r:Besides, you always have that chance of it comming right back up the tube.
Wouldn't snitch?? Isn't everything said over radio where any one can hear it, not to mention recorded line? Anywhoo, I agree that the medic probably didn't ask for the order. I also agree with the fact that is was probably personell that the Doc trusted, not some new green medic out of school...
We have the scapled in our OB kits too. If they were doing this under med controls authority, then that Dr was taking responsibility for every one, I agree, and nothing happend to them. Besides, they saved the infant, has that gone over looked?
