Why are we still interpreting cardiac rhythms?

Didn't have a chance to read all the replies so I apologize if I'm mentioning something that has already been said: My experience with Cardiac Monitor's is exclusive to LP12 and LP15 but here's my experience: They are pretty darn good at the vertical access, but not so good at the horizontal...

Yes, I understand my title - I was trying to engage in some tongue ‘n cheek behavior. Everyone on this website considers themselves an expert - it’s like EMS Facebook ya know. Look, this is simple - I was trying to help a young aspiring EMT on information I believed to be true and am aware...

No, I’m saying that at least one of the states listed does require a medical examiner’s certificate. Also, I have no intent of claiming I didn’t say something that I said - especially in print. I guess for us to really know we would need to look at all ambulance service requirements in the...

Assumptions are also fun. Not from California. And you are incorrect. Some of the states above do require a DOT certification. They may have different names for example, Commerical Driver's License (CDL).

Your company doesn’t require a Department of Transportation physical in order to drive an ambulance? Ok. Do you have a physical through “employee health” or “occupational med”?

Hi there.... a couple of things.. First, I have ADD and depression and have worked in EMS for 20 years. I work for a large EMS agency and have worked in high ranking positions including management and education. So yes, you can be successful but there can also be obstacles and biases that can...

Just that his approach to care in traumatic arrest was amazing. For him and his encounters, ROSC in Traumatic Arrest was much better than 1%. Clearly the dynamics of the scenarios he was involved with are far different than the garden variety EMS provider.

Google Dr John Hinds. It will change your mind in regards to ROSC in Traumatic Arrest.

Stressed guys messdd up on some calls.

I’m not sure I follow what you’re asking me to agree with or disagree with. Nobody disagrees that an asymptomatic patient should have a normal blood pressure. I’ll simplify it. If you’re using the presence or absence of a radial pulse to tell you if your patient is sick or not sick, you don’t...

Couldn't disagree with you more. Do you really still believe that a radial pulse guarantees a systolic of 80?? I've seen many patient's who have a strong radial pulses who are clearly hypotensive. There is an absolute benefit to staying on scene long enough to do an appropriate assessment...

Stressed guys messdd up on some calls.

Spot on. EMS professionals confuse me so much. They are disgruntled that people treat them like taxi drivers but act like taxi drivers. They are disgruntled that they aren't paid what they are worth but don't behave in a way that earns what they are worth.

We invited I.B.I.U.E.I. when mobile phones only had the snake game. The dynamics between partners have certainly changed. I've always been a fan of a good book.
