Anyone have info on being in the Army Reserves as either a 68W or a 12M? I'm currently an EMT on a private ambulance company and I want to get more experience while making more money. Long term goal: Medic on a FD. any and ALL help/advise is GREATLY appreciated.
Does that count only for 68W? and is that only for Enlisted? I am thinking about joining Army Reserves as either 12M or 68W(preferably 12M as I want to be a Fire Medic eventually)
I'm thinking about joining mostly because my pay at my current IFT private ambulance co. doesn't allow me to...
I'm taking the test with Glendale Fire on Friday. got any tips with that one? from what i can tell it seems like it's almost national registry questions but i'm not sure.
So I have a test for an AO position with Glendale Fire in 2 weeks and I'm curious if anyone has any experience with what the test is like? what will the questions focus on and what should I brush up on? I appreciate any help you guys can give.
I also recently got hired by Liberty (July 2013). I can tell you that everyone I've talked to in management is really cool. They talk about being a "family" and things like that (although being an at-will employer doesn't feel very "family" to me). As for your schooling, there's a lot of EMT's...
No worries. The company is growing so you'll have to go to downey for the hiring process, orientation and fto, but then you can work 40+ hours a week. Just make sure you tell them Indy Adams referred you ;)
if you want a really easy IFT job apply with Liberty Ambulance. they're based out of Downey but they have an OC station in Lake Forest. $11/hr for basically driving stable patients from point a to point b :D
the DMV office i went to you can just pick it up, BUT it's stapled to the medical examiners form. maybe if your dr is cool he'll just fill it out. otherwise you'll have to get the physical again with the actual form from the DMV.
I had the same thing happen: filled out the .pdf online and...
thanks for the suggestions guys. usually I try to joke around with my partner but sometimes he's focused on his phone the whole shift :glare: anybody have good book suggestions? I recently read "Working Fire" by Zac Unger - great memoir
the other day my partner and I were at lunch at In-n-out and there was a wreck on the street right in front. since our company doesn't run 911 in the area we called 911 to get fire on scene and then proceeded to inform dispatch of the accident and that we were going to cancel lunch to assist...
my company just has numbers for the rigs based, if i'm not mistaken, on when they got them (ex. 1 is the first ambulance the company bought, 50 is the newest) and the units we run are organized as 220's (LA county BLS), 260's (LA county ALS), and 420's (OC BLS). yesterday i worked 422 (second OC...
