I don't know if this has been brought up before, and I deeply apologize if it has...
But has anybody heard of California "updating" the EMT ranking terminology? I just took my refresher, and the instructor was saying that there will no longer be "EMT-B's/EMT-1's" or "EMT-I's" but rather...
Yeah
but again, with CARE it's a guarantee you will be running 911.... so KNOW your skills inside out. You'll DEFINITELY need to be proficient at each and every one of them. And be up to date on your knowledge, you'll need that too. Go in there with confidence, and show them what you can do...

Hm, CARE Ambulance.... i'm guessing it's the one in the OC? if not, disregard the rest of this message lol....
But It's a good company, and since it seems like you're a starting off EMT, best of luck to you on that one. I know that a lot of the calls they run are 911 alongside Fire, so...

Hey all,
So i have a story that'll probably make all the noobie EMS-ers feel SO MUCH BETTER ABOUT all the hardships of starting off in this crazy field...
So it was my second call, I was still being watched over by my FTO. This wasn't even an emergency call, btw, it was a routine...

Well...me and my partner were driving down a crowded LA street, going to pick up a patient on a routine transport call (our last one for the day), when i smelled something burning. My partner didn't notice it at first, but as we got closer...

Has anyone here heard of "Tactical EMS"? I know a lot of retired army medics and future-SWAT team and LAPD EMT's go for it, and certification is pretty tough to obtain.....
anybody got information on it, or is anybody here certified?

but my issue is with how useless and practically inept we become, in terms of our ability to treat...
Yeah, I know what you guys mean.....I'm definitely going to continue my education, and i'm already in college (I'm a second-year at UCLA right now, Neuroscience Major geared towards Pre-Med)
...just sorta wish I could take it a little farther in EMS than basic....but CA doesn't have...
Hey Guys,
I finally finished my EMT-Basic class, got through the NREMT_B np, and grabbed my license asap..... and I couldn't help but feel .... "that's it?"
...honestly, and I mean absolutely no disrespect to any seasoned EMT-B's here, I felt as if Basics are allowed to do nothing but...
...just a random question, but has anyone ever completely messed up on a call ? like, just blatantly misdiagnosed, mistreated, or even simply had no idea what was wrong and what you had to do..? ...sorry....EMT school's been kinda making me paranoid of approaching a victim, and just choking...
