Hello,

My name is Mike, I'm from the North Shore area of Massachusetts. I'm currently taking a Basic course, if all goes well hopefully I'll finish it in December.

I'm also a student at Salem State College and I'm a ham radio operator and photographer in my spare time.

Welcome to the site my man. You'll find there are lots of students here and there are lots like me who plan to be in the near future. Enjoy the stories... seeing as I'm not even a student I really don't have much to contribute but I'm sure you've got something. I'm also noticing that people here are mostly very helpful so this seems like a good place to ask questions.

Hi Mike

I'm from the South Shore area of Massachusetts, just finished the written exam last saturday and am now officially certified. The class itself finished up mid August and it was about a month and a half before we could take the practical exam. It was nerve wrecking because they didn't ask us to retake any portions so we were unsure whether we got 2 stations wrong or passed the whole thing! They said that it would take about 3 weeks to get results but it was more like a week and a half until the postcard came in the mail that said we could take the written exam. I wish you the best of luck in completing your course and that and more so on both the exams
