EMT-Defibrillation?

I saw a New Jersey EMT patch that said Defibrillation in red letters on it, is this referring to manual Defibrillation? I never heard of this certification.

see above for the official answer, but 15 or so years ago, Automatic defibrillation was an extra course added on after EMT. now that AED use is included in CPR, and you don't need to be an EMT, it has been removed, and included in the basic EMT course.

those that still have the patches are just wearing old patches.
