I recently applied at Care in san diego. They told me I pretty much got the job and I was excited about that until I went home and read reviews from past employees with them. I was wondering if I could get some clarification on whether they are really that bad or if its just rumors?

I worked at care about 2 years ago for about a year. This is what I will say, my checks never came late and they always cleared. Can't say the same about other places that I worked. It's a good place to get you foot in the door. If you come to work on time and run your calls it's not bad. If you come to work and act like a kid you will be treated like one. Yes there is a clique, but if you don't let it affect you it won't.
Just remember this, you are the lowest level on the totem poll and there are a thousand new emts a year and that's how they look at you.
Have fun!

Alright thank u. I got an interview with them for this Wednesday so I guess it's a job and it does get my foot in the door and I can't complain about that

The interview is pretty straight forward and easy. Come in looking business casual. I asked to list the blood flow through the heart. I was also asked a question about pneumonia but I forgot the specifics of it. Other questions were name all the North/South freeways in San Diego County and "What are your strengths and weaknesses?" Good luck!

thanks man, ya I have friend who told me the same thing, he worked there, I was just getting another persons viewpoint.
did you get hired btw?

Yea I did I've been here for 7 months now so I've almost got all my hours in.

by any chance how much are you making per hour?
We make $10 an hour here and we work 8 hours shifts 4 days per week. If u want to work more there's more than enough overtime available and you're most likely going to be held over on all your regular shifts so you will make overtime off of those too.
