We use regular strykers, and powered strykers.
I love them. Prefer a regular one, don't like the extra weight of the powered one.
So much better than the fernos in chicago winters.
I always wonder the same thing.
I asked at work, never got a straight answer.
Talk to IMMC would be your best bet.
I've been too lazy to do that as well. ^_^
In my bag most of the shift ( it's a personal Littmann and I'm pretty forgetful so I never leave it on the back of the cot, lost my gloves already.), around neck for the first half of the calls, and I'll usually take it off as I walk to the drivers seat on most calls and throw it back in my bag...
Except for one hospital, we can take all the linen we need/want.
IDPH has a law that we are required to have a minimum of six sheets and two blankets in every rig. We try hard to keep the numbers at 1:1, but after doing four or five IFTs without stopping at an ER, you need to grab more than...
Sasha got it right!
I like helping people. It helps keep me balanced. It's fun. I enjoy being on the streets the days I work and not stuffed in some office. I like meeting new people. I like new experiences. I like learning. This job saved my life.
It goes on.
I love being an EMT...
Thanks.
You guys would probably think I'm a bit whackerish but I carry a backpack with me at all times, and along with my laptop, books, and nicknacks I carry around with me, I carry gloves, steth, bp cuff, CPR mask, pen light and basic bandaging equipment. Also now that its hot out a few...
I used to get away with a full on wild man beard.
My company did not care at all.
I also had really long hair.
Recently (due to the heat) I have shaved down to a neat goatee and a buzz cut.
AND I'M KEEPING IT.
I fell in love with this. So much cooler, easy to maintain, and the...
My only question to those with more experience, as I would have stopped as well, is aren't you required to stay with him once you start care until you can hand him up to a higher level?
Or is the family and pt's refusal good enough, as there is no refusal on hand to sign?
I don't want to...
I'm overweight and have visible tatts.
DGAF.
My company is cool with it, and I'm losing weight because I want to get on a fire dept EMS service. All of which are cool with visible tatts.
Gotta love the Chicagoland area.
Many FFs, EMT-B/Ps, and LEOs have visible arm sleeves, random...
I've always liked you RR.
I totally agree!
I have wiped behinds, and changed diapers.
Some partners have told me that we dont have to do that, we arent CNAs.
I disagree. Pt. care (and IMO in IFTs this includes comfort) is number one.
You gotta do what you gotta do.
