That’s probably what I’m thinking of. Thanks.

    Thoughts on High Flow O2

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t there a relationship between nitrogen and surfactant? Somehow I seem to remember that a decrease in N2 leads to a decrease in surfactant production which can in turn lead to, obviously, atelectasis. Not that you’ll see it in the 30 minute window you have the...

    Drug Cooler

Hey folks, What do you use to secure your cooler meds? Looking for a new system. Right now we have a safe with the non-cooler drugs, and in that safe we keep a key for a small lock on a latch that's screwed into the lid of a portable powered cooler. Looking for something that'll eliminate the...

    Haix Boots

Hey peoples, I recently bought a pair of Haix Airpower XR1 boots. I am looking to sell them, as I was given another pair of nice Thorogoods by a retiring colleague, and see no reason to keep two pairs of expensive boots around when they both fulfill the same role for me. I would return them...

first call of the day is...

Usually Dialysis or a transfer to Dr. Office for the children's nursing home in town. Then 8-10 911 calls a day after that. Half of which are often to the same kids nursing home. :-/

Oh I am fine. I think it had to do with the fact that I was going on close to 40 hours with no sleep. Every last drop of optimism in me drains out around 26 hours.

How long is your commute to work?

10 minutes to my usual station. Though with all the mandates, it could be anywhere between 8 minutes and 1.5 hours to another station.

I know the feeling. Not that long ago I transported a very end stage pancreatic cancer patient to hospice. Very nice Bosnian man in his late 50s or early 60s. He didn't speak a lot of English, but enough to get by. Turns out he was a refugee from Sarajevo, Bosnia, during the war. He lost his...

I get a point for calling off sick also. And three points if you call off sick on a mandatory OT shift.

Leaving on the lights while on scene?

This one. I like this one. Despite my screen name....I cannot stand running code 3. Last shift I transported code 3 for the first time in probably 6 months. Then again, it is a four lane road all the way from my town to the hospital, and I seem to catch 99% of my calls at night anyhow, when...
