Hey guys,
I used to be an EMT back in San Diego, California and I moved to Colorado Springs, CO this summer. It took me awhile but I finally got my Colorado EMT certification. Due to personal reasons, I will more than likely be moving to Loveland, CO. I've searched the forums and read...
Hey everyone,
I moved to Colorado Springs this summer and have received my state certificate. I used to be and EMT in San Diego, so I feel that I need to learn the protocols for El Paso County before I start applying. I did find a website link on El Paso County Medical Society that has...
Hey my name is Matt and I have been an EMT-B for 3 years from San Diego, CA. I may possibly be moving to Albuquerque, NM next summer. I saw that you have some posts regarding Albuquerque. Is sounds like ABQ ambulance would be the best one. San Diego basically lets EMT-Bs do IFTs and SNF...
There seems like there is on hopital which is a good one that only requires to be an EMT. It seems like a lot more want CNA or associates degree or current enrollment in nursing school now than when I checked a year ago. Well see what happens. I guess I either have to take the course or move on...
I have been an EMT for a few years and was wondering if there is a way to challenge the CNA cert so I would not have to take the class. I want to because I want to go into nursing plus most of the tech jobs require you to be a CNA now.
Thanks,
Matt
Well you sound like me lol. I heard Schafer is really good so you might want to check them out. I believe they are a pretty big company, on their website it looks like they are in 5 counties. It seems like were always hiring. BLS has a high turnover rate. There was an incident lately though and...
I've been at Balboa for two years now. Im planning on going nursing, so I'm not too picky about where I work. What I like about Balboa is they are flexible with scheduling and I think they pay a little more than other companies. Also, the station is about 10-15 mins from my house. We also get...
Bummer I was looking forward to 911s. I have 2 years of experience and will have 4 by then. Looking to go Rn so I need to concentrate on that. I don't mind BLS and don't really want a normal job but I may have too.
Ah I was hoping there would be a change since Im doing the exact same right now. What do you mean back up 911? I know Rural Metro has a bridge program here where you are a driver for a medic.
Maybe moving to Sacramento in a couple years. Can anyone give me a brief summary of how BLS runs up there? 911's? I work in San Diego so Im used to pretty much just transporting. Any Idea of the pay? I may be switching to Rural Metro sometime. Is Rural Metro up there so I could possibly make the...
Ugh I was hoping to get out of IFT's. Downgrade 911's would be nice. Thats one thing I wish we did. Do they contract out to SNF's? Here thats what we do and thats how we get our ER calls. Im glad he cares about the employees. Thats one thing our company lacks.
Thanks for the info reaper. Lol im used to driving 15 mins to my current company. I know in San Diego, Rural Metro is the main private company followed by AMR. What would be the main company there?
Dang. Well the girl is thinking about moving there for vet school. Most of these vet schools are in rural areas. Are they only IFT's? Do they have some "ER" calls?
Does anyone know which companies run BLS in Gainesville, FL? Also what do they do (911, transports) and roughly how much do they make? Might be moving there. Have experience.
I know im saying IF she was under 18. Of course the decision is hers.
I think one of the drugs might have been Naloxone, but only one dose. Isnt that the same as Narcan?
No not narcan. Unless there was another name for it. Ha I know. There was a point where I was so stressed out and mad and would like to get her charged for neglect. Shes one of those people that thinks shes "always right".
Did you here the story about the girl who had diabetes and her family...
