I work for the company lafmedic is referring to and I have to say ten codes and signal codes were an easy way to communicate, especially when they drill it into your mind when you are hired. Its hard to change your ways suddenly, and the amount of traffic on the radio is becoming a problem.

I like where I work, we wash the trucks after every shift so we always look presentable and its never too dirty. I think I will try to clean the top now though..lol.

Heyy I work in Donaldsonville. Currently Acadian (Where I work) has a few Basic openings in East Baton Rouge. It would be best to check out the website (www.acadian.com) frequently. If your just starting out, I would highly recomend working for them..you learn alot.

I agree Hospitals do like to see what happened, as well as other medics who like to discuss the incidents and what we did and could've done.

Our stations usually have 2 bedrooms, cause they are all houses of some form. We can sleep whenever and whereever as long as everything is done. Other than that the cab of the truck works too.

Go to Books A Million, Borders or whereever else and get Barrons EMT Exam it helped me out the most...online studying doesn't even compete, its just ways for people to make money.
