At my company basics start at $13.25/hour and medics at around $16/hour.
I think the nature of a job should determine the pay, not the level of education needed to obtain it. There are tons of jobs that require less education than an EMT-Basic yet pay a lot more. I really don't feel that...
I am definitely considering doing my medic through them, as they are the closest option to me by far (other than Northeastern but I can only imagine how much they'd charge.)

I use my own GPS, but only for things such as long distance transfers and emergencies in areas that I am not fully familiar with. It is a good tool to have, but I only use it when I need to.
Here we are able to give 2mg intra nasally as basics. I haven't gotten to do it yet, though, seeing as I am a white cloud. The reason some people tend to be upset or agitated isn't because you are ruining their high, but because they wake up to see a bunch of people standing/crowding around them.
