    68W to civilian paramedic

Welcome to military medicine bro - trust me, I FEEL your pain. 2 years and I'm done, and my gig on a 4-man CA Team isn't even that bad. But yeah, over it all. Can't wait to get back to civi-side of things.

Univ North Carolina Medic to PA program!

DOD Paramedic on one of the CA teams down here at Bragg myself. Taking all my pre-reqs for PA school and so forth now at nights - alot of the dudes in the class are 18D's and similar. Dudes are great at trauma - not the best with clinical aspect of things, but that's not to say for all 18D...

    56 y/o, f

Guys - lets not over-think this. Fluid challenge for BP and HR (obviously heading towards a state of shock), following getting a bit more Hx from her (which yall did, finding out pt had not eaten and drank in well over the normal time period most of us humans who like to live do in) - found out...

Jb Learning compared to NREMT B

Vitals, patient history, patient presentation, etc. JB is somewhat vague but not as much as NREMT. For example, one of the questions I had (if I remember correctly) gave you virtually the same vital sets and patient presentation for a pt with wheezing; they wanted you to decide between...

Jb Learning compared to NREMT B

I found very helpful for both my EMT & Medic NREMT's. More-so the explanations. Not only does it EXPLAIN why the correct answer is correct, or more correct, but it explains WHY the other answers aren't. That's the most benefit I got out of JB. Test questions are similar yet more vague on NREMT...

Does anybody know where to take skills proctor exam near Fayetteville nc

I'm at Bragg myself - I'd think that if you haven't looked at places on the NREMT website (have location search option for both hands-on and cog test) for our "wonderful" area, then try Raleigh. Sure they have some places up in the city and by Duke.

    I got accepted!

Know the WHY, not just the HOW. I'm sure your instructor staff will drill this into you ^_^ Understanding the A&P is big too - goes with the above advice. When it comes to treatment down the road - go simple before advance. No reason to do all these fancy procedures when you can do simple BLS...

    Fast track Paramedic school?

The only fast-track sort of P course I know of is the one I went through. 5-1/2 - 6 months, total (including NREMT hands-on and computer-testing). Now, we went to class Mon-Friday 8am-5pm, every week - no breaks in the entire half year timeframe. Sat and Sun were for clinicals until the last...

    Blood coagulant during internal bleeding

My big question is - even if you know, or suspect, there is bleeding internally, how do you know where the bleed is? Civi-side, get them to ER/OR. Mil/tac-side, we're probably just going to chest-tube and attempt to stabilize until further care can be provided.

    Did that really just happen...

How do you pass the freaking test!!!

Truth. ABC or CABC depending on patient. Longggg time ago, a very wise person told me that regardless of the level of care, always work simple to complex on your procedures for fixing your ABC's. Who cares if they're in pain, who cares if they're uncomfortable, etc - I'd rather have a screaming...

Just some info here on additional ASI for those of us who have them. M3 - Dialysis (skill level 1-4 only) M6 - Practical/Vocational Nurse (skill level 1-4 only) N1 - Aircraft Crewmember Standardization Instruction (skill level 2-3) N3 - Occupational Therapy (skill level...

    68W to civilian paramedic

A fellow team guy of our's was previous 160th SOAR and helped do some additional training and CE's for these dudes out there in the West. Solid bro's is what he told me when he got back to the unit.

    Military medics using stethoscopes.

AMEN to that lol so many different dialects in CENTCOM. Our unit was given the Litt cardiology ones - fantastic scopes. Even bought one for myself for my own bug-out med bag for while not down-range.

    Army Basic Training Tips/Suggestions

Great sage advice here  Was in your shoes not too long ago now, but as a EMT-B (just recently got my P). Jackson for basic is not too bad, compared to the other BCT locations. It really depends where they send you once they cycle yall through reception. Reception is terrible - worse...

How useful is the JB learning test prep?

Very helpful I thought - more so the explanations on why the answer they pick is correct and why the others are not. Helped me pass my EMT & Medic nremt tests on the 1st go
