I have been looking at that website; keeping an eye on postings. I'll be coming back to SoCal in the next month, and Im trying to feel out whether or not AMR will still have medic spots. My bills won't be too happy if I'm an unemployed medic back home in SoCal, hahaha. Might end up having to do...
Ive read the articles and it seems that Nov. 1st will be the first day for this change. Currently, Paramedics Plus is contracted with EMSA. When AMR takes over, is this just on the business end or will they do a full sweep of re-lettering the trucks, uniforms, policies, etc...to reflect that of...
Central EMS runs 911 and IFT in the city of Fayetville and the surrounding county. Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville all run an ALS Fire Departmennt, so you have to be hired by them to run on there rescues as a Fire/Medic. Great Departments by the way.
Furhter south of NWA you have...
Exactly, signs of Herniation. No where did I say that I would wait and not do anything until I saw these signs. These are things that Im going to be expecting my pt to demonstrate while in my presence if im going down a TBI road with a significant head bleed. If, in fact, you do have those late...
I too work in the rural, with three trauma centers and a burn center about 30-40mins via helo, 2.5 by ground. For your particular call, I would have launched an aircraft, and rolled a second ambulance. All of this after recieving the first dispatch tone. Our service has a great working...
Anyone work for PMT/Southwest or in the Phoenix area that can shed some light on Paramedic opportunities. I understand that PFD runs there own ambulance, but how is the working environment with PMT/Southwest? Good coverage areas, shifts available (12hr, 24hr), protocols, relationship with area...
Since when is CPAP not an ALS treatment or protocol since this doesnt seem like a medic assesment to you? Maybe the OP is a new medic and doesn't have the experience or is just getting used to a certain style of assessing there patients. Every medic has to start somewhere, give em a little credit.
With her not liking the NRB, CPAP would do no good. In our service, she would have bought herself a tube and nice ride in with a dx of chf exacerbation.
AMR Ventura County is a career division. Dual Medics, excellent county to work in, very good pay, excellent relationship with Ventura County Fire, and going on a 10+yr 911 contract.
Worth looking into, but VERY tough to get on.
You take things said on a forum wayyy to seriously and relate it to what would be done in the rig. That is your first short coming. Your second is assuming that I would jump to such measures when I am in a "bad situation" based off of a comment that I posted. Chill out dude. We both have...
Maybe its just our progressive protocols that allow us to "cut their throats" if there is no other option. BLS before ALS, you should know this. And im glad that you understand that the chest going up and down and blood going round and round is the gold standard.
Dont fear the Cric.
Sounds like my regular pts  You say what now...and I say Cric. There is always a way, and just for kicks il have bicarb on standby.
The last thing you want is to paralyze someone, and have to bag them through the ER doors without having a tube. We make sure that never happens with our...
I will be returning home after doing two years out-of-state to complete my Paramedic License/Degree program and had some questions for you guys about AMR. We are moving to the temecula area and I was looking at AMR Riverside. Is the riverside division good with working with out-of-state...
