    Just to update you. If you got a ticket for an offense in pa. It classified as a summary offense which is below a misdemeanor. Basically for all intents it is a traffic ticket.

    Jan-Care ambulance WV

    They cover a bunch of counties in WV for emergencies down south toward charleston and have 2 stations up north for mostly transfers. However their southern trucks do transfers also. I know the pay at the morgantown station is pretty low compared to pittsburgh area where I work.

    It says ANY standardized course and has ACLS listed. Now it also says to list my acls expiration but I assume by their wording that I can count it against the 48 hour requirements probably mandatory cardiology. Frank

    Just took AHA ACLS, PALS (2-day) and PHTLS Courses. Can these be used hour for hour under the refresher part of the cont ed recert. This is my first time going through the recert process for NR. PA requires 18 hours a year to maintain medical command status. Frank

    I believe you have 2 years from end of class. So you might have to just redo the pratical.

    Fellow Floridians!

    Just passed my florida exam for medic. Hopefully get my stuff in 2 weeks. Im currently from up in PA and looking to move south. Possibly either central florida or near melbourne. Now I will have to get used to the heat during the summer.

    I see they are offering 7500 sign on for baton rouge la area. So ive heard good and bad things. Is that not a good area to work in? They were holding interviews up in OH this week.

    medevac?

    In pa with an RN license you basically have to take the paramedic assessment test offered via NREMT. I dont remember if they have to do the practicals exam. Also before you can do that they require you must take the emt-b course if not already certifed.

    Take that blank paper when you start and write out an assessment sheet like you have in the trucks so you remember to hit all the points and make notes for your report at the end.

    Indiana county has one main ems provider. Lifestat ems. they have a few stations through out the county plus a paid transport station near pittsburgh to do upmc transports. Pay is not too great out here for emt-b. 8-10/hr. Depending on where you live in indiana county you could look at...

    Appendectomy for Paramedics

    Just for the record my comment was being sarcastic due to the topic of this thread. I could never see ems providers doing surgery with the exception of a needle or surgical cric. Dr's go to school for many years before they are even allowed to hold a knife over a patient.

    Pittsburgh Paramedics

    They cover the city limits only. As for staffing 8 hour shifts but opportunites for overtimes always exists. They announce the OT over the radio for open shifts for people to call in.

    So apparently you have to be an Intensive care paramedic to do a 12ld? Even though it looks like the regular medics have LP12, the ICP have 15's
