Any company that will hire you. In CA you're not going to find a job as a non fire department paramedic where you make great pay.

My starting pay as a medic was around 42K/yr. Staring pay as a fire/medic can be as much as 98K/year.

As for what company will hire brand new medics it all depends on what area/s you are looking at.

Fer real!? I mean... It is Fresno, but that's almost worth a commute for anyone within a couple hours away. Better practicar tu Espanol before deciding on the is one I'll bet.

WHAT?! Man, I never thought I'd consider moving back to CA....

Oh, wait... I still won't... But that sounds like a sweet set up to get into! Decent pay/hours/BLS fire... Too good to be true... The catch: It's Fresno.

Yea lol huge gang and meth problem. But if GSW's are your thing thats the place. I've heard nothing but good things from the field staff to one dispatcher they get treated very well.

Not like you get to run LA county 911 calls as a medic. They also pay close to minimum wage for emts and slightly above for medics.

The Paramedics run as a dedicated 911 resource in the city of Torrance. That is part of the Torrance contract in case the FD runs out of ALS.
They also act as primary ALS for the beach cities as they often run out of ALS. The summer time is filled with requests for ALS as a first in unit.
McCormick also acts as primary ALS for the many HARD events in LA City. They also handle MANY large scale special events that place them first on scene to render ALS care before the County arrives.

Paramedics Plus in Alameda County hires frequently, as does Rural / Metro in Santa Clara County. Also look out for AMR jobs in SF, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Monterey and Contra Costa, as they also seem to take people quite often.
