I have buddy who's trying to get NREMT. He took his class in utah and its all accredited. he did NOT pass the state exam. does that even matter if he wants to take NREMT? Nremt pretty much just said he need corse completion and practical done. If he wants passes the national will the state even matter?

Depends on your state. Here in California you pass EMT, take National, then you go to your local EMS office and apply for your CA EMT card (depending on the county). Counties (that I know of) in CA don't require you to have your NREMT to work. Generally if theres a state EMT card then for most places in that state won't require NREMT. Its all state specific, I would contact the EMS office in the county that your friend wants to work in and ask them.
