so I just found out my grandpa was also an EMT Firefighter, which is news to me. I'm surprised I had no idea, but my grandma just gave me his old patches.
just wanted to share with you guys. Would love to see old patches from other states as well. I can still smell the smoke on his fire one, it's very emotional.

Hearing his stories I really wish he was alive to tell me them himself.
Would love to hear some stories as well

It hurts me to hear you call those EMT patches old. That is what I used to wear on my jacket. Your grandfather vollied a few miles away from where I did. I took my CFR course at his firehouse.

Maybe his father, but I'm not old enough to be his grandfather, yet.

Well I mean no offense to you Man. I have a few textbooks from 2013 on my floor I would consider "old" as well.
By no means are you Elderly baha.

But geez, thats amazing to hear. Which firehouse? Anything else you could tell me? Did ya know a guy named fred???

This would be very eerie to meet someone who knew him. He wasn't very old at all when he was taken away from us, cancers a *****.

The yellow NYSEMT patches are current, and used by FDNY EMS. I personally dislike the other NY state EMT patch.

2013, old?? Jeeze. My textbook for my CFR class was the second edition of Brady (I think it was the 2nd edition, it was dark blue), back in 1992. I was from an ambulance company about 19 miles east of Islip Terrace so I doubt I knew him. My CFR class was taught at the Islip Terrace main house on Sunday mornings but I can't even say I remember any of the instructors.

I prefer the blue patch over the yellow. I just have something against the color yellow.
