Hello everyone!

I have a question hoping someone can answer. In Massachusetts, you don't have to be nationally certified to work? All you need is state?

You either need to be certified in another state or have your national registry. If you just finished your class you will have to take the NR exam for your initial certification. If you took your class in another state you could certified in that state and then gain reciprocity but that seems overly redundant if you're goal is to work in MA.

In order to enter MA as a new provider, you must have NREMT, the state no longer offers certification by reciprocity.

In other words Massachusetts only grants new certification based on national registry.

Existing MA providers are NOT required to obtain NR.

Once you have registry you can apply for Massachusetts certification either online which takes a week or so brown paper which takes two weeks.

Massachusetts also wants a verification form from all states where you have previously held certification.
