It's a known fact when I was in collage . I tried to volunteer for my hometown fire dept. Was in fire class ect. They rejected me. Yeah said when I got angry i had an attitude "who doesn't when they get upset", I got upset pretty bad never said anything to them just went on like normal. Ignored how I became the loser couldn't even be a volly EMT in my town. The guys in fire class liked to give me a hard time about it. How it happened was I was told I had a bad attitude but they would put me on I would get a phone call the next day from the officers. this was after I had been rejected once. But decided I really need to try again. The phone call from the fire officers never came and I found my number was blocked. Reality set in when I had to drop out of class, got hired as a EMT in a far away town. Become a volley in the town I work EMS in. But ran into a guy I know when I tried to volly back home. Said ********** is hiring emts for the ambulance dept., maybe you should apply or not. Talk about bad memories. But now I don't know if I should or not I mean its much closer to home. "across the street" But I fear the fire dept thing " the fire and ambulance is connected in one building" will really put a damper on me applying.

I'm assuming you're asking for advicE about whether our not you should apply... honestly it's hard to you're out what you're asking.
But if for some reason you want to move back to your hometown, suck it up and apply. You need to get over what happened and be an adult.

The questions I have are: Has your attitude improved? Will you still be seen as the guy with the bad attitude?

If you've improved, then I would also go and visit with those that said this and show them. Apologize if you've caused them any trouble, told them that you've learned from your mistakes, talk about the things you've done to improve, etc.

Side note, it's spelled college.

I don't understand anything from that post. Not trying to be rude but is English your second language? You had another post about having trouble with fire on the scene of an mva. If you are constantly having trouble with anger and interpersonal and working relationships, maybe should consider working on your own attitude. Try meditation.

See the thing is fellow ems people. I was told I was over interested in the fire dept. So I toned it down, was then told i'm to quiet and not aggressive enough in EMS. But I have 100% pt. feedback and an excellent pt. care record. It's funny when I applied today and they seen how close I was. First words out of the ems chiefs mouth. Ever thought of joining the fire dept? It was awesome they had no idea! application in interview went good!
