Kinda hard to judge the scene management by the responders when they aren't even on scene yet. In my experience this is a typical layperson response to an accident. I think the off duty firefighter did the best he could. He tries to assign tasks to people and speaks/moves with purpose. That's...
So there is a serious possibility I might be moving to South Carolina. The Columbia area to be exact. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what the BLS market is like. Coming from Southern California where there is an ambulance company on every corner, i'm sure things are quite...
Came on at 0730 and didn't turn a wheel until 1300. I should have known. 6 transports and two cancels since then. Auto vs Ped in a wheelchair and some sick people. We did run a auto alarm in a particularly spooky assisted living facility, minus the assistance. Felt like the beginning to the...
I apologize for reviving this thread from three years ago but I thought I would just in case you or anyone is still interested. I grew up on Catalina and have family that work for Avalon City Fire. I will say they have a unique set up but it does work.
Avalon fire has a career staff of 11...

Negative. 9/10 times they are monitor, O2, saline lock, code 2 transports with the occasional drip or vent patient. By protocol we'll run code 3 for STEMI's and Neuro step up. There's always your random criticals that call for it as well as deterioration during transport.
He wasn't. We weren't in our normal rig and my partner (driver in the beginning) and I had gone over it in our morning checks. What you saw was our CCT-RN being a backseat driver and telling him he was doing it wrong. ;)
I think what she means is someone leaving CARE in OC for R/M would mean someone leaving CARE for Pacific. Someone leaving Care SD for for R/M 911 would be an entirely different story. I'm assuming you work R/M 911?
Shoreline operates ET or emergency transport 64 and 65 contracted with the city of Westminster. They run with Orange County Fire Authority. Other than those two units, all other work is IFT.
