    EMT BOOK

My advice: tell the human stories -the humor and the pathos, and the relationships between partners and between caregiver and patient. "Look at me, I'm a hero!" stuff gets tiresome, because frankly, we're not heroes 99.9% of the time and most of us know it. Nor do we wish to share the blood and...

    Question about IV starts

Honestly, I wouldn't. If you do, practice it on a manikin arm or people with good veins. I have gotten to the point in my career where I have realized that, when it comes to peds patients, they either need vascular access RIGHT NOW, or it can safely be deferred until ED arrival, and I'm far...

    Question about IV starts

It's called "Google Alerts," an indispensable tool for narcissistic EMS speakers and writers. ;) The title "Ambulance Driver" is satirical, yes. As for the bevel-down technique, there's a learning curve to using it, but I've found it to work well for me after I got the trick. Using...

Are there any memoirs(preferrably Kindle/Nook) written about EMS in this century?

My books are not available currently in Kindle format because Kaplan/Simon Schuster are arguing with Amazon over pricing, but they can be had in Nook or Sony eReader formats. I'd also recommend Peter Canning's books, as well as Michael Morse's "Rescuing Providence."

    Blogging about EMS

Blogging Tips 101 1. Find your niche. You might be a ranter, or a humorist, or an educator, or an inspirational blogger, or some combination of all of the above. But ultimately, find your own voice. Don't try to sound like somebody else, because Somebody Else already does it better than you do...

    Grayson's Book

Kaplan is currently in negotiations with Amazon over their Kindle releases. I'm told an agreement is close at hand, and the Kindle version will again be available after that.
