New iPhone accessory

Interesting. So the iPhone can function as a stethoscope, EKG, and now a blood pressure monitor, too.

But it still can't make phone calls

No? Tell that to the thousands of calls I've made with mine. Never had a single problem making calls on mine.

Wonder what the next medical use for the iPhone will be?

On a side note still waiting for a verizon iPhone haha

That is pretty damn cool.

Great for people to be able to monitor the htn a little more cheaply. I'm sure you could then send the trends to you'r doc's iphone for check ups.

I love living in the future.

Hahahaha, another person who gets offended by Iphone jokes, even though Apple is the most closed-in company in the world.

That is awesome they just need to make those for Andriod now ....

Dont be suprised if when a crew goes to an old fart who has had a spell at the Pak N Save to be greeted by something like "oh hello this is Alf, um, pulomnary edema, cardiac history, coarse mid crackles bilaterally, inital BP was 60/30, ECG not looking very good, junctional bradycardia ... sorry whats that? Oh man this new smartypants phone has everything, itll even call an ambulance hence why yous are here!" :D

Haha......until all the wanna be's start using this and think they know what they are doing. Or the same thing happens responding to a call and the patients family is asking why you are getting a bp and hooking up leads because they already have all that info for you. Just wait you'll see haha

I give it six months before every Johno in the state has one :P

At least with this one I don't have to put my iPhone directly on the pt's skin... I was very intrigued by the EKG case, but I'm not keen on slapping my phone on anyone's chest. Now if someone comes up with a dock-connector 12-lead, that would be interesting.

Thanks, I hadn't watched the whole way through before, I just saw the part where he held the iphone to his chest. Didn't realize the communication is wireless, thought the phone had to be in the case. Still, without scale or anything I am dubious about the potential use beyond novelty here. Still, I'm sure given a little time they could have the phone running a 12-lead and be able to transmit it directly to the ED like our Lifepaks do now.

I want an iPhone :( Stupid verizon. grumblegrumble.

Considering my phone is on life support right now, I will probably have used up my upgrade by the time those things come out.

Is the DNR official? You could always keep it going in a vegetative state for a bit.

One of my favorite apps is airstrip. I use it on my medical iPad.
